In last two or three weeks, we heard some students from secondary one, two, and some scholars from secondary three campaigning themselves by doing public speeches during morning assembly. The batch of secondary three also had an opportunity to ask any queries that they have to the nominee of prefect from the scholars. Not only that, we also could see some posters placed in the wall or somewhere else of our school. Why, in the first place, do prefects are needed?
Prefect exists almost in every school around the world, maybe an exception for kindergarten. It is a representative structure for students only, through which they can become involved in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the school and its student.
In a large school, prefects play a critical role. The position of prefect is a position of responsibility and one which provides an important connection between pupils and staffs or the teachers. They often also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social events or community projects.
Prefect often serves to engage students in learning about democracy and leadership. For the democracy view, start from the process of campaigning, election, and finally nominated as a prefect is similar to the way a democratic country does. It helps the student to understand better the benefits and the disadvantages of democracy. About the leadership, prefect is also representing the leader of the students. In their work at school, they need to maintain the discipline level at high level in the particular school. From the experience of some pupils who became prefect, being a prefect is memorable and made them a bit more famous or maybe ‘infamous’ because of that.
Becoming a prefect is a valuable goal and the position of prefect forms a valuable part of a pupil’s personal development, opening their mind to new levels of responsibility and participation in a very positive way. Prefects are a tremendous help to the school and play a particularly important role in mentoring younger pupils to be a good leader in their future.

strange theorem
I found this 'fallacious' theorem after drank a bubble tea.
Consider a cup of bubble tea. Drink it until the remainder of the bubble tea is only half of the cup. We can say that the cup is half-full, but we also can say that the cup is half-empty. Therefore
Half-full=half-empty
That is, full is the same as empty.
Anyway, I would like to say sorry if someone actually has found this strange theorem earlier. I did not plagiarise, but maybe our way of think is similar.
Hehehe..

Democracy
Democracy is government by the people in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system. In simple words, we can define democracy as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Democracy is adopted by most Western and Asian countries and it is claimed to be the best system of all other political systems as it helps a country to create stability-in social, economic, and politics. Now, I would like to discuss about the relation between an aspect of democracy which is election with stability.
In my opinion, it is not the ideal of democracy itself will create stability for a country, but more on the selected people who governs the country. Hence, election in democracy plays an important role to the country because the election is the event for people to choose their own leader. If the people choose a wrong person, the country could be in a chaotic situation and of course there is no stability. For example, take the first principal of good democratic government which is “Leader must do what is right”. It is not clearly classified what is the “right” for leaders to do. The implication for this statement is “what the leader does is practically correct for him”. But, it does not follow that what he will do is always correct. It may be not the right for the majority people. If that how it is, then the first sentence becomes “Leaderships is the key towards destruction” because the citizens have to leave their final decision to the leaders. With such condition, people should really think logically who they will choose. Respect and trust for the leader is also needed so that it would push the leader to really concern his citizens’ needs.
The main problem is we could not see whether the candidate of the leader is a “good leader” or not. We only could see and hear them talk during the campaign. Whose speech is convincing, we will choose that particular person. But we do not really know what his true personality is. Although a person is convincing enough to get many votes, he may become a dictator like Adolf Hitler one day. The “poor” who usually not well educated are the main target of the candidates. The candidates convinced these people easily by promising big things for these people but eventually some of them turn up into nothing. Ironically, these people choose the “liar” candidate with high probability and it will lead to destruction. But, some of the candidate is not like this.

In conclusion, from the aspect of election in democracy government, I think whether democracy creates stability or not, it depends on the person who is elected by the people. If he is a good leader, democracy may lead into stability. But, if he is not, then it will be a country with almost no stability.

Where is Mas Selamat?
The Jemaah Islamiyah leader, Mas Selamat bin Kastari, escaped from the Whitley Road Detention Centre in Singapore. On 2003, he was sent to jail because he was predicted to be the mastermind of a plot to crash a hijacked plane into Changi Airport. He fled while on a visit to the toilet at Wednesday evening, 27 February 2008. Some people are in the panic condition until now. In the beginning of that article, a busy businessman accompanied his wife to pick up their daughter from school because of this issue.
Until now, when I go anywhere, there are so many pin-ups of Mas Selamat, in the four languages-English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. These posters are calling on the public to report any suspicious person with the same photo as Mas Selamat to police. This problem must be very serious.
Mas Selamat must be a very dangerous person. This statement maybe very obvious due to the fact that he could escape from a prison with high-security systems. Now, he is at large and carries a potential to make a crime such as stealing or killing. I think all Singaporeans should be on guard and make a good corporation with the police.
Now, I would like to bring your attention about the location where Mas Selamat hiding. Where is the place that most likely Mas Selamat seek? There are a lot of possibilities. Some people believed that he was still in Singapore, since he did not have money to flight to another country, food to eat, or clothes to conceal him. He should be still in Singapore and steal something from the citizen in order to survive. I think the police should not search him in the place like Orchard Road or places with many people. They should search in the creepy, quiet, and eerie place, especially in forests. The chance that he is hiding there is quiet high, since it is a perfect place to hide with some foods. Some of the people said that he escaped to Indonesia by speed boat because Mas Selamat 'possesses good knowledge' about entering Indonesia illegally or he went to Malaysia. It is possible because he is a good engineer, but the problem is where he can find the speed boat. If he wants to rent a motor boat, he needs money. If he wants to steal the motor boat, there is should be a theft case. It is almost impossible if he swims across the seas. The other possibility is he went to his hideout with his friends. Actually, the whereabouts of Mas Selamat is not so important if citizens, police and the other country can make a good teamwork. He could be caught in a few days.
